Intro to Cruising

When I come across people that have never been on a cruise, I’m always shocked! Cruising is one of my family’s favorite vacations and is an especially good choice if you’re going to be traveling with a large number of people.

Let’s jump in to why I love cruising and talk about one of my favorite cruise lines.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line

Royal Caribbean was my first love and I will ALWAYS recommend it before any other cruise line (yes, even Disney). The reason is because all of their ships are super family friendly and the cost is usually half of a Disney Cruise. Now don’t get me wrong, DCL is in a class all its own and is still one of my favorite things to do; but, let’s be honest, most people don’t have the money to do a Disney Cruise on a regular basis. With Royal Caribbean, the costs aren’t as hard to swallow and the amenities, lodging, and food are still top notch.

What’s Included on Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean’s fleet of 26 ships has literally something for everyone. We love going on cruises with extended family because you can be as active or as chill as you’d like. Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, the Icon of the Seas, is the largest in the world and will take its maiden voyage in January 2024 out of Miami. I can’t wait to get on that one some day!

Some of the amenities on many of the Royal Caribbean ships include:

  • Numerous pools including adults only and kiddie pools
  • Splash pads and water slides
  • Sports Court
  • Ice skating rink
  • Broadway theater
  • Mini-golf
  • Flow rider surfing simulator
  • Casino
  • Numerous lounges and bars
  • Arcade
  • Kids Clubs
  • Spa
  • Fitness Center
  • And so much more!

The cost of your cruise also includes all your food, along with water, tea, and coffee.

Ports of Call

The above activities don’t even include what’s offered at the ports during your sailing. Royal Caribbean offers and manages many shore excursions guests can purchase for their trip. I’ve always felt completely safe while exploring the different ports and attribute this to the organization and commitment of Royal Caribbean. You can experience things such as swimming with dolphins and rays, touring a sea turtle conservatory, going parasailing, seeing local sites, shopping, and more!

Cruising is such a flexible vacation option and that’s why I love it so much! You can be gone for 3 nights or 10 nights, visit half a dozen destinations or just stay on the boat, sleep in or get up early and exercise… it’s all up to you! I hope you’ll consider cruising with Royal Caribbean for your family’s next vacation.
